  • KOVAX Tolecut is a professional adhesive sanding sheet designed for dry local removal of defects on painted and clear-coated surfaces. It is one of the most popular KOVAX systems used in automotive painting, body repair, detailing and polishing preparation, when small defects need to be removed precisely without sanding a large surface area.

The Tolecut system is designed for fast, safe and efficient removal of surface defects such as dust nibs and paint or clear coat runs. It works dry, allowing the sanding progress to be seen in real time and helping reduce the risk of sanding through the surface.

The KOVAX Tolecut sheet has an adhesive backing, making it easy to attach to a Tolecut sanding block, Tolecard or another suitable holder. Firm adhesion allows stable abrasive control, even contact with the surface and precise sanding of the selected defect area.

These sheets are especially suitable for removing local paint defects after painting or clear coating, once the surface is fully cured. Tolecut is used for dust inclusions, small clear coat runs, paint unevenness, reducing orange peel, individual defects and small surface corrections. After Tolecut sanding, it is recommended to continue with a finer system, such as KOVAX Buflex Dry, to reduce sanding marks and shorten polishing time.

The Tolecut system stands out because it works dry and allows constant result control. This is very important when working on clear coat, where excessive sanding can damage the top layer. For this reason, Tolecut is often chosen in professional paint shops where defects need to be removed quickly and precisely before polishing.

KOVAX Tolecut sheets are available in different grits and colours, making it easier to identify the abrasive being used. The Tolecut system is available in the K800–K3000 grit range. In practice, commonly used options include K1200, K1500, K2000, K2500 and K3000, depending on the defect size, clear coat hardness and desired final sanding mark.

The single-sheet format is convenient when a specific grit is needed for a particular job or when the sheets are used as a refill for an existing KOVAX Tolecut system. It is a practical solution for professionals and detailing technicians who want to remove individual paint defects precisely and prepare the surface for further sanding or polishing.

Remove the protective layer from the sheet and attach it to a Tolecut block or suitable holder.
Sand dry with light and controlled movements.
Do not sand too long in one spot to avoid damaging the clear coat layer.
Check the result regularly during work.
After removing the defect, refine the surface with a finer abrasive if needed.
After sanding, polish the surface according to the selected polishing system.
Use extra care on sensitive or thin clear-coated surfaces.
