MAVAR Fiber Light New Gen lightweight colour-changing glass fibre body filler, 1 L

MAVAR Fiber Light New Gen is a lightweight polyester body filler reinforced with glass fibre, designed for filling larger dents, irregularities and damaged areas during automotive body repairs.

The glass fibres reinforce the applied layer, while good flexibility and low volumetric shrinkage help provide a strong and stable repair. The improved formula offers excellent adhesion to correctly prepared steel, galvanized steel, aluminium, polyester laminates, existing paint coatings and two-component acrylic primers.

The density of the filler is only 1.2 kg/dm³, compared with approximately 1.7 kg/L for standard body fillers. Its lightweight formula provides greater coverage because less product is required to cover the same surface area.

The MIXING INDICATOR colour system makes application easier and reduces the risk of uneven mixing. The filler is blue inside the container and changes to a uniform grey when thoroughly mixed with the hardener. This colour change confirms that the components have been mixed evenly. Sanding should only begin after the filler has fully cured.

The mixture has a pot life of approximately 4–8 minutes at 20 °C. It is ready for sanding after 20–30 minutes at 20 °C or approximately 10 minutes at 60 °C. Infrared drying for approximately 5–10 minutes is possible when following the equipment manufacturer’s instructions.

Suitable substrates:

Steel
Galvanized steel

Two-component acrylic primers
Existing paint and clear-coat finishes
Polyester laminates

Do not apply over etch or reactive primers, one-component products or nitrocellulose coatings.

Directions for use:

Clean, degrease and sand the surface according to the substrate type.
Mix 100 parts of filler with 2 parts of hardener.
Mix thoroughly until a completely uniform grey colour is obtained.
Apply the filler within 4–8 minutes at 20 °C.
The total filler thickness must not exceed 5 mm.
Allow the filler to cure completely.
Use P80–P120 for initial dry sanding.
Use P180–P240 for final dry sanding.

Substrate preparation:

Steel and polyester laminates: degrease and dry sand with P80–P120.
Galvanized steel and aluminium: degrease and abrade with a suitable abrasive pad.
2K acrylic primers and existing paint finishes: degrease and dry sand with P220–P280.
